Hard Man Bitten...
Chuck Bednarik will be rooting against the Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday - strange you might ask since he was part of the Super Bowl winning Eagles side in 1960, yet he has no desire to ever see the franchise win another title.
"I can't wait until the Super Bowl is over," said Bednarik,"I hope the 1960 team remains the last one to win. I hope it stays that way."
Bednarik admits he's a little jealous about the salaries of today's players and has had falling outs with Eagles senior management over the years. Bednarik says he'd never made more than $27,000 and had to supplement his salary with an afternoon job selling concrete - hence the nickname "Concrete Charlie." The winning players in Sunday's Bowl will get a bonus that is more than Bednarik used to make in a season.
