Collins Looks To Slay Giants

Kerry Collins of the Oakland Raiders has a big game ahead of him tonight - matching up against his old team the New York Giants. He just might want a little vengeance on the team that ditched him for Eli Manning.

Collins was by all accounts very hurt when the Manning thing happened. He really liked being with the Giants. Just four seasons after Collins took the Giants to a When Accorsi finally got his man on draft day, Collins figured that was it.

He (Collins) could have hung about serving as a mentor for Manning but he declined. He was released later that day.

Collins said that any time you face a team that you once played for, you want to be at your best. To say Collins will be motivated would be an understatement. He might just want to show someone at the NYG that they made the wrong decision in letting hime go.

Oakland lead the series 7-2 and won the last game 28-10 back in 2001 - they have also won the past four meetings. The last Giants win was 34-17 sixteen years ago. The Giants have played twice in Oakland. Losing both games.

Pro football betting spreads for this game currently have Oakland as +8 underdogs.

Flying High Easy For Seahawks

Seattle are the immovable object in the center of a twister - they stand firm while change is swirling around them - they are the only team to repeat (playoffs) from last season's NFC bracket which comprises of six teams.

The divisions are changing, perennial winners Philadelphia Eagles are already eliminated and will be lucky to finish 8-8. There will most likely be three new NFL division winners.

There are reasons in the salary-cap era that a team might go from the playoffs to obscurity in the course of one year - often that has to to do with injury - cases in point would be Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Minnesota — who saw their quarterbacks lose a lot of playing time to injuries. St Louis also lost a coach. Then there were the Packers, who surrendered Michael Wahle and Marco Rivera to beat their salary cap issues.

Change is now part of the scenery for the NFL - except maybe the Seahawks..

Price Released by Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys released receiver Peerless Price yesterday, according to the team's Dallas Cowboys website. Price signed a contract in September, but had only one start for the Cowboys - with involvement in seven others.

He was out four times earlier in the season before filling in for Patrick Crayton. Crayton is ready to return. Price picked Dallas in primarily for the chance to be play again with Drew Bledsoe. With Bledsoe as his quarterback in Buffalo three years ago, Price had 94 catches for 1,252 yards - he also made the Pro Bowl.

Price has never really performed to the same level again.
