NBA Basketball: NBA, Sports Betting, All Star game...2010

NBA ALL-STAR GAME

The State that has become synonymous with the word 'big' did it again as the 2010 NBA All-Star game pulled in a record crowd of over 108,500 people.

It was the biggest crowd in the history of the game and was played at the home of the Dallas Cowboys (NFL team) - well, having the capacity helps I guess. The place is so big that there is a super-sized TV screen (useful if you are in the sky seats) that is 175 feet long!

When Cowboys Stadium first opened with Dallas hosting the Tennessee Titans in an NFL game, the Titans punter (A. Trapasso) punted a ball that struck one of the high tech scoreboards that hangs over the middle of the pitch - so spending around 1.2 billion US dollars on a state-of-the-art stadium does not always ensure that things will go off without a hitch...but the All-Star game went off smoothly along with a real party atmosphere.

In the game, the Eastern Conference won, defeating the Western Conference by 141-139, disappointing most of the stadium's supporters who were largerly cheering on the West.

Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors) won the game with free throws with just a few seconds remaining after Dwayne Wade had added 28 of his own. Carmelo Anthony led the West with 27 points.

'King James' (LeBron James) had his say hitting 25 points.

The game result is almost secondry at this event - it's really just one big party. In this way it perhaps even tops the Super Bowl as the most star engaged sports event.
