Basketball Betting.
VIP Sports offers a wide range basketball betting markets. We take bets on all NBA (National Basketball Association) WNBA (Womens National Basketball Association) NCAA games (college basketball).
Bets offered are as follows:-
- Pointspread and Total for the whole game
- Pointspread and Total for each half
- Pointspread and Total for each quarter
- Moneyline for the game
- Proposition bets
- Points buying
General Basketball Betting Rules:
For betting purposes, unless otherwise stated, NBA matches are official after
43 minutes of play.
For betting purposes, unless otherwise stated, NCAA matches are official
after 35 minutes of play.
Teams must play for there to be action, all bets included, all leagues included.
Pointspread & Over/Under Bets:
VIP Sports offers pointspread and total (over/under) betting. On a pointspread wager, the team wagered must win by the pointspread.
On an over/under wager, the total points of the match by both teams, overtime
included, must fall over or under the side selected.
Example:
The posted line is the Miami Heat -14 at Toronto Raptors +14 and the over/under
total is 191.
The odds are USD 1.10 to win USD 1.00 (-110) unless otherwise displayed.
For the player who bets on the Heat -14, they must win by more than 10 points
for this to be a winning wager. For the player who bets on Raptors +14, they
must either win the game, or lose by less than 14 points for this to be a winning
wager. If the outcome falls on the number, either way, the bet is declared a "Push",
and the original stake is refunded.
For the player who bets on the total points of this match by both teams to
be "Over" 191, the combined final score of both teams must exceed 191.
For the player who bets on the total points of this match by both teams to
be "Under" 191, the combined final score of both teams must be less
than 191. If the outcome falls on the number, the bet is declared a "Push",
and the original stake is refunded.
Pointspread and Over/Under lines will be offered on all NBA, WNBA and NCAA matches.
All bets on the side & total will include all overtime scoring.
Halftime bets:
VIP Sports offers Halftime betting.
Halftime betting is a bet only on the score of the first, or second
half of a match. The line offered will be a pointspread, a moneyline, or a combination
of the two, but the wager applies only to the score of the halftime period specified.
- First half lines will be offered on all NBA and NCAA matches.
- Second half lines will be offered on all NBA and the majority of NCAA matches,
and will be offered within 5 minutes of the end of the first half of the match.
- bets can be parlayed with other matches, but a first half wager may not
be parlayed to any other wager from the same match.
- No teaser plays or buying of points is allowed on Halftime bets.
- Overtime periods are included as part of the second half.
- The full half (first or second) must be completed for action.
Quarter bets:
VIP Sports offers betting on individual quarters on many matches. Betting on quarters is just a wager only
on the score of the first, second, third or fourth quarter of a game. These
lines will be offered on special events, such as playoff and championship games.
The line offered will be a moneyline, points spread, or a combination of the two.
The bet applies only to the score of the quarter specified.
Note: Overtime points / scores are not included in fourth quarter bets.
Moneyline Betting:
VIP Sports offers moneyline betting on basketball. Moneylines are bets on a game based
on a given price rather than a pointspread. The team that is bet on just has to win
the game. Essentially this is a "straight bet" on teams A to win or team B to win.
Example:
A player could choose one of two bets on the following matchup: Detroit Pistons
-195 at Charlotte Bobcats +185. If the Lakers win, the player laid USD 195.00
to win USD 100.00. If Portland wins, the player who bet USD 100.00 wins USD 185.00.
- Moneylines will be offered on many NBA and NCAA matches.
- Moneyline bets may be parlayed to other matches, but a moneyline wager
may not be parlayed to any other bet from the same game.
Point Buying:
VIP Sports is proud to offer Point Buys. This is a method of allowing the bettor
to improve the pointspread of a basketball match by actually "buying points"
for the team he/she wants to wager, side or total. players can buy points in 1/2
point increments up to 3 points, depending on the match. Each 1/2 point costs
the bettor an additional 10% vigorish.
Example:
The Memphis Grizzlies are playing the Houston Rockets, and the line on the game
is the Grizzlies -10, with a total of 189. If a USD 100 wager is placed on the Lakers
-10 with a 1/2 point buy, the player has a wager on Memphis -9 1/2 points,
and must put up USD 120 to win USD 100, instead of the usual USD 110 to win USD 100. If the
player, for example, requests a full 1 point buy to move the pointspread down
to -9, he/she would have to put up USD 130 to win USD 100.
Conversely, the bettor may also buy points on the Rockets, and get the
line at plus 10 1/2 or 11 points, with the same increase in vigorish.
players may also buy points for basketball totals. In this particular game, players
could buy an "over" wager with a maximum line move down to 188, or an
"under" wager with a maximum line move up to 190.
- Point Buying up to a maximum of three points will be offered on all NBA and
NCAA matches.
- Point Buying will not be offered on halftime, quarter or moneyline bets.
